In Season
The brief for this project was to create a poster campaign to encourage and inspire people to eat produce that is in season.
To tackle this I firstly produced a recognisable plate logo for the campaign, which serves more of a function that you would first think. The exterior of the plate is split into 12 segments, each segment represents a month in the year. The four seasons are then broken down into different colour groups. These segments are used to indicate when a certain produce is ‘in season’.
My campaign centres around what the benefits would be to eating in season. These include; saving money, helping to lower transport emissions, increasing the variety in your diet and fresh, better tasting produce. From the money conscious to someone trying to reduce their carbon footprint, these benefits connect with a wide range of people.
The month I have focused on is October and pumpkins are the main event in this poster. I have illustrated that you can do lots with a pumpkin, in an attempt to celebrate its qualities as a fruit other than something you just carve for Halloween.
Participants are encouraged to share their in season foods using #InSeason to spread the word and share meal ideas.
